  • Describe the basic architectural elements of the Eclipse Graphical User Interface (GUI)
  • Explain the InfoSphere Data Architect Views and their contents
  • Relate the functions of the Search tool

Logical Data Modeling

  • Relate the concepts of a logical data model and notation techniques for its diagram
  • Explain how a logical data model is represented in the various InfoSphere Data Architect Views in the Eclipse Graphical User Interface (GUI)

Physical Data Modeling and Transformations

  • Discuss the various ways to create a physical data model
  • Explain how to create a physical data model from an existing logical data model
  • Describe the capabilities of InfoSphere Data Architect to perform DB2 for zSeries storage modeling for the physical data model
  • Relate the usage of the InfoSphere Data Architect model analysis facility
  • List the steps to generate DDL to deploy the completed physical data model

This intermediate course is for data modelers, physical database designers, application analysts, database administrators, and other personnel who need to perform logical and physical modeling and associated functions as provided by InfoSphere Data Architect.

  • Use the Eclipse interface to employ InfoSphere Data Architect functions
